- tape and protect furnishings
- prime new wood and walls
- then, of course, paint!
- remove chip for color matching and try sample if partial paint job is best option
- power wash to clean the house before painting
- sand and scrape and areas where paint is peeling
- replace damaged or rotten wood
- reglaze window frames
- cover any windows or surfaces that are not to be painted
- cover the perimeter of the home with drop cloths
- apply a prime coat to raw wood
- then, of course, paint!
